for Microsoft OUTLOOK
(not Outlook Express)
1. Go to Tools > Email Accounts. (This will open a popup
window.)
2. Select "Add a new e-mail account". Click
"Next".
3. Select "POP3". Click "Next". This
will load the "POP3 Internet E-mail Settings"
window.
4. In the "Your Name" field, enter your Name or
Business Name.
5. In the "E-mail Address" field, enter your
complete email address.
6. In both the "Incoming mail server" and the
"Outgoing mail server" fields, enter "mail.domain.com".
(Be sure to replace "domain" with your actual
domain name.)
*7. For
the "User Name" field, you will need to try one of
the following. Some systems vary, so start by entering
the first part of your email address like pictured below, or
try the whole email address. Please also note that you may
need to check the box "Log on using secure
password..." at the bottom but leave unchecked to
start. Another important note is that when you click
"Test Account Settings" it is not accurate. It may
tell you that there is an error when in fact everything
works fine. DO NOT trust this button!
8. In the "Password" field, enter the email
password
9. You're not done yet! Click the "More Settings"
button. This will open another "Internet E-mail
Settings" popup window.
10. Click on the "Outgoing Server" tab. Click the
"My outgoing server (SMTP) requires
authentication" checkbox.
11. Click the "OK" button. That second popup will
close.
12. Back in the original popup window, click the
"Next" button.
13. Click the "Finish" button.

Mail via Outlook Express
Instead of checking on-line via a website, you can set up
your Outlook Express program to check all your email
and other email accounts all at once. Here is the process
for setting up Outlook
1. Open Outlook Express
2. Click on "Tools" on the top menu bar then
click "Accounts"
3. A Box appears, click on "Add" button in the
upper right. then click "Mail"
4. 1st Screen - Display name (you can use anything
here....has no effect on the email performance)
5. 2nd Screen - Email Address (enter in all lowercase your
email address)
6. 3rd Screen - Select POP3 from the top drop down menu.
Enter in the following for both "incoming" and
"outgoing" mail server names: mail.mydomain.com
but be sure to replace "mydomain.com" with
your actual domain name
7. 4th Screen - Account Name (Type in all lowercase the
first part of your email address. For example, if your email
address is john@mydomain.com
you would enter in only "john" (without the
quotes)
Next enter in the password. Make sure "Remember
password" check box located below this is
checked. Leave the box at the bottom for connecting via
secure connection empty. Click
the finish button.
8. The final step is setting up authentication. With this
"Account" screen still open (If it is not open, go
back to step #2), click the "Properties" tab on
the right hand side then click "Servers". At the
bottom of the "servers screen" is a checkbox
you need to check. It says "My server requires
authentication..."
follow ALL these steps above to set up additional email
accounts in Outlook Express. To compose emails via outlook
express, simply click the button at the top "create
mail". To receive email, simply click the "Send/Recv
All" button at the top. This will check mail for all
your email accounts you have set up in Outlook.
